Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a reliable, hardworking School Caretaker to support a specialist education setting in Greater Manchester. This is a vital role within the school community, helping ensure a safe, clean and well‑maintained environment for staff, pupils and visitors.

As the school's Caretaker, you will play a key part in the daily running of the site. Your responsibilities will include:

• Opening and securing the school building each day.
• Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks.
• Conducting regular checks on safety equipment, alarms and building condition.
• Managing cleaning standards and supporting site cleanliness when required.
• Overseeing contractors and monitoring work carried out on‑site.
• Ensuring outdoor areas are tidy, safe and well maintained.
• Responding to maintenance issues promptly and professionally.

You should be someone who is:

• Practical, resourceful and confident with general maintenance tasks.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Friendly and approachable, with a positive attitude.
• Committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming school environment.
• Experienced in a caretaking, maintenance or facilities role (desirable but not essential).
• Aware of health & safety practices and safeguarding responsibilities.

• Full‑time, school‑based role with occasional flexibility needed. 7:30‑5:00.
• Enhanced DBS required (Tradewind can help with this if needed).
• Start date: As soon as possible.
