Have you ever wanted to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable Children and Young People? Our children's home in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport provides residential care for Children and Young People with Emotional Behavioural Challenges. The Together Trust is one of the North West's leading charities, offering individual care, support and education to hundreds of children, young people and adults each year. We are a not-for-profit charitable trust, so every penny goes back into benefiting the people that we support. You will work in a caring home environment, nurturing and supporting the young people we work with and helping them overcome the issues they face.

Hours & Salary

37.5 Hours per week
Salary £34,653 (£17.77ph). Additional pay: £100.80 for sleep‑in shifts, 25% uplift on the hourly rate for weekend shifts (£22.21ph).

Key Responsibilities
  • Promotion of wellbeing across the organisation including Mental Health First Aiders and free weekly yoga sessions (in‑person or online).
  • Provide access to our Employee Assistance Programme for you and adults in your home.
  • Create a caring, supportive environment with a strong emphasis on work/life balance.
  • Support the development of a shared leadership style and organisational culture that encourages open, participatory management and promotes the wellbeing of individuals.
  • Participate in establishing an enabling culture and effectively manage a home that helps children and young people achieve optimal outcomes in a safe, secure environment.
  • Assist with the selection, recruitment, and retention of staff to ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive environment.
  • Oversee the development and motivation of teams, individuals and yourself to enhance performance.
  • Manage and monitor budgets to achieve efficient and effective use of resources and the delivery of a high‑quality home.
  • Work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well‑planned way that respects and values children and young people as individuals.
  • Demonstrate evidence of right to work in the UK and eligible residency status for apprenticeship funding rules (right to work for more than 20 hours each week, 3 years ordinarily resident).
Key Qualifications & Requirements
  • QCF level 3 or 4 Children’s, Families and Young Peoples Practitioner Qualification or equivalent.
  • Significant residential care experience and supervisory experience.
  • Ability to organise and manage the planning and implementation of new developments within time constraints.
  • Knowledge of the National Care Standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; liaison with staff, parents/carers and professionals.
  • Initiative and teamwork ability, taking the lead when required, encouraging open and honest communication.
  • Good standard of written English and IT skills; writing reports and recording children’s and young people’s progress.
  • Driving licence held for 12 months and ability to transport children/young people to activities or school.
