Project Engineering Geologist (Grouting)

BMC Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer (Grouting) to join a client who are specialists in the geotechnical engineering sector based in London.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operational control of small to medium-sized contracts and provide onsite support for large contracts
- Ensure safety, quality, cost control, performance to programme, and customer service
- Manage change within the scope of contracts, including Health and Safety, Operational, and Commercial aspects
- Day-to-day management of assigned staff and workload
- Mentor and develop subordinate staff
- Undertake pre-tender site walkovers and provide feedback to estimators
- Attend pre-contract award meetings with clients, engineers, and safety professionals
- Produce and review Health, Safety & Environment documentation, quality plans, and works programmes
- Organise and plan works to ensure safe and efficient execution
- Procure and manage plant, equipment, and materials
- Prepare and review HSE returns, plant and labour returns, and subcontractor documentation
- Monitor subcontractor performance and review invoices and applications for payment
- Compile Applications for Payment (AFP) for works and identify changes that may lead to early warnings or compensation events

About You
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or equivalent qualification
- Experience in the geotechnical industry with knowledge of ground conditions, drilling, ground investigation, and drilling and grouting techniques
- Understanding of standard geotechnical processes and introductory knowledge of specialist geotechnical processes
- Basic understanding of contract management
- Excellent written English and letter writing skills
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial knowledge and contractual awareness
- Professional approach with a strong customer-service focus
- Full UK driving licence
