Your Mission

Our data science team tackles some of the hardest quantitative challenges at Getaround and have a decisive impact on Getarounds growth. You will work in the Pricing & Ranking squad to build core algorithms of our two-sided marketplace. Some of the key use cases are : Pricing : Forecast the two-sided marketplace and model its dynamics to optimize pricing for our car owners. Search engine : dynamically rank and filter cars to maximize conversion, GMV and drivers LTV. Experimentation : Improve the statistical methodology behind our experimentation platform to ensure that our understanding of product changes is rigorous and accurate Generative AI (early stage) : two live POCs with LLMs this year, were looking for talents that help shape the next steps.

What Youll Do

Youll report to the Head of Science as one of three data scientists within our 10-person Data team. Expect close collaboration with pricing managers and analysts, plus daily partnership with a product manager, designer, and engineers in the Pricing & Ranking squad.

Model development : Developing data products to optimise our two sided marketplace such as pricing, search ranking. Youll have the end-to-end ownership of model developments : from data collection and preparation, model optimisation and evaluation to deploying in production.

Evaluation : Develop innovative statistical ways to evaluate pricing strategies and run experiments within the marketplace.

Exploration : Perform ad-hoc analysis to assess business opportunities that could be tackled by a data science approach

Data Science practice : Contribute to developing our tools, processes and best practices to make sure we work in a fast and reliable manner.

Data stack : Collaborate with data analysts & scientists in the team to evolve the data stack for new challenges

Data Science & ML : Python pandas, scikit-learn, Prophet, LightGBM... Mlflow, Ruff, FastAPI

Data Modeling : SQL with dbt

Warehouse & Orchestration : Snowflake and Astronomer (Airflow) Infrastructure : Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, AWS Fargate, EC2

Analysis & Visualization : Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, Metabase, Hex

What youll bring

Proven Experience : 14 years developing machine-learning models at scale, with code shipped and maintained in production.

Applied ML : Skilled at tailoring models to real business problems in cross-functional teams; experience with predictive pricing or LTR models is a plus.

Statistical & Algorithmic Knowledge : Strong command of statistics and modern ML algorithms.

Programming : Proven proficiency in Python.

Cloud & DataOps : Comfortable with cloud platforms and data-operations tooling.

Communication : Strong communication skills in English, essential for collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical team members, including fully remote colleagues.

Detail-Oriented : Capable of challenging specifications and always ready to offer solutions. You balance technical and business needs effectively.

User Focused : You understand that the ultimate goal is to enhance user value through your contributions.

Team Player : You have an egoless programming mindset and can take constructive feedback on the code you produce.
