We are looking for an innovative leader to design next-generation equipment for delivery stations. This role offers high ownership in solving complex problems and designing systems that leverage advanced automated material handling equipment. Join the WW Equipment Engineering Innovation team to develop and deliver cutting-edge equipment, collaborate globally with vendors, and ensure quality control.

Ideal candidates will have experience in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Manufacturing/Mechanical Plant Engineering, or First Article Inspection (FAIR). You will work with internal and external teams to create high-quality, cost-effective solutions for last mile delivery systems.

Success in this role requires influencing senior leaders across geographies and working with teams such as WW Engineering, Last Mile Delivery, and Operations to innovate at scale and develop the roadmap for future equipment.

You will join a dynamic team working on medium to long-term innovations in process infrastructure, equipment, and standards for both new and legacy delivery stations. This role offers challenges, learning opportunities, high-impact projects, and growth.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Serve as the WW technical expert for equipment development, including leading testing and validation.
  2. Lead idea generation for innovative design solutions to operational problems.
  3. Create documentation such as design definitions, quality specs, assembly instructions, and standards.
  4. Develop structured plans to move from concept to assessment, pilot, and expansion.
  5. Manage and deliver project plans, including reporting, financial, and leadership approvals.
  6. Provide technical expertise and challenge suppliers and partners.
  7. Build business proposals based on innovative designs, collaborating across departments and with external partners to ensure timely, within-budget project completion.
  8. Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting needs promptly and accurately.
  9. Own internal process innovations, including road-mapping and planning.
  10. Coordinate with software teams to support physical and process innovations.
  11. Travel up to 50% regionally and worldwide based on business needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the field.
  • Experience with PPAP, Manufacturing/Mechanical Plant Engineering, or FAIR.
  • Experience with new vendor onboarding and quality management.
  • Experience bringing new equipment from concept to validation.
  • Experience with automated material handling systems, including robotics.
  • Knowledge of process design based on Lean principles.
  • Experience managing capital projects involving engineering design.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, CAD software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields.
  • 5+ years in operations.
  • Experience in logistics, production, or manufacturing industries such as Automotive or Aerospace.
  • Experience working across multiple locations or regions.
  • Background in innovation or R&D teams.
