An innovative geomatics firm is seeking a Construction/Municipal Survey Crew Chief in Calgary, AB. Ideal candidates will have experience in construction and municipal survey sectors, along with a degree in Geomatics. The role involves conducting surveys, mentoring assistants, and requires strong communication skills and a desire for excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience leading a survey crew.
- Experience performing precise layout and control surveys.
- Experience working on industrial and commercial construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal surveys of subdivisions and condominiums.
- Perform construction survey layout of building foundations.
- Travel out of town as needed for surveys.
- Mentor and guide survey assistants.
- Maintain accuracy in field notes and calculations.

Construction/Municipal Survey Crew Chief – Calgary, AB
who, ideally, has experience in the both Construction and Municipal Survey sectors and has the desire to grow and learn with an innovative, forward-thinking company.
The Work:
- Legal surveys of subdivisions, condominiums, development permit applications, and real property reports
- Construction survey layout of building foundations
- Survey facilities, layouts, piles, and grading
- Willing and able to travel out of town when the need arises
- Work is outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
- Follow safety protocol
- Provide guidance and mentorship to survey assistants
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate field notes, records, and calculations
What you bring to the table:
- Strong focus on relationships, both internal and external to CORE
- A desire for excellence in all that you do
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to liaise with clients
- Creativity
- A degree/diploma from a technical college in Geomatics
- Experience leading a survey crew
- Experience performing precise layout and control surveys
- Experience working on industrial and commercial construction sites
