Schedule: Tuesday -Saturday, 12:30pm-9:00pm

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Operations Manager the Delivery Driver Team Lead’s primary responsibility is to help the Operations manager in managing the team of drivers, and at the same time to be a valuable and exemplary team member. Provides direct to retail deliveries for a dedicated Metro customer. It is essential that the Delivery Driver Team Lead creates collaborative and valuable relationships on the team as well as a positive customer experience by understanding and meeting his or her team members’ needs as well as the customers’ needs. Success in this role will be determined by positive interaction with team members (internal customers) and external customer satisfaction through on time, accurate deliveries. Providing a positive customer interaction each time you interface with the internal and external customers is fundamental.

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Monitor the PM hours of deliveries, working directly with the Operations manager with on truck monitoring and guidance for the drivers.
  • Pull and audit NPS compliance on an hourly basis and complete driver follow ups.
  • Ensure orders for all clients are closed out within windows and create recovery plans if needed.
  • Attend calls as required in the evening – preparation for routing of Ikea trucks specifically.
  • Be on site at the warehouse for driver return/offload process.
  • Track of all returned items
  • Complete audits to ensure that drivers have attached appropriate return labels on all product coming back into warehouse.
  • Basic data entry of orders, assigning drivers and sufficient in routing software’s.
  • Prepare meaningful dock meetings for morning shift.
  • Stock paperwork for drivers and confirm paperwork is distributed in driver’s envelopes.
  • Update tracking sheets and communication boards as required.
  • Send pass off emails for any issues that need to be passed onto the morning team.
  • Strict adherence to completion of all documentation according to SOPs including manifests, obtaining signatures, use of safety tabs etc.
  • Follows all SOPs regarding the safeguarding of Metro and its Customers property against theft.
  • Works with Customer Service and Logistics Coordinators to accommodate rush deliveries and/or changes to the scheduled delivery route.
  • Establishes a positive relationship with all team members by demonstrating positive attitude, good behavior, attendance, and high performance and by listening to his or her team members’ needs.
  • Establishes a positive relationship with the retail customer by understanding client expectations, meeting daily commitments, and addressing or referring any service concerns for priority resolution.
  • Adheres to established uniform requirements, maintains a professional image, and handles all client interactions in a courteous, customer-oriented manner.
  • Demonstrates and promotes Metro’s Our WAY values on a daily basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
