Salary : Up to $135K

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of routine litigation proceedings
• Responsible for preparation of affidavits of documents, refusals, motions.
• Drafting and enforcing orders, including garnishments, and perfecting appeals.
• Conduct preliminary due diligence investigations through to judgment and enforcement.
• Support Civil and Commercial litigation cases at all levels of court in Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada, including tribunals.
• Manage project documentation for submission of large multi-billion dollar construction dispute
• Consult with client on a regular basis to organize submissions through client Sharepoint
• Collect, organize and manage client data using iManage and eDiscovery platform, DISCO
• Collaborate with partners and senior associates on revising, proofreading and finalizing witness affidavits with exceptional attention to detail
• Manage dispute submission deadlines using Outlook and shared calendars

Qualifications

• 5+ years of law clerk experience in the area of litigation, with a focus on construction or infrastructure.
• Experience with class action files is an asset.
• Successful completion of a related post-secondary Law Clerk program.
• Experience with iManage, Outlook, and eDiscovery platform, DISCO is an asset.
• Knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and superior word processing, spelling, proofreading and editing skills.
• Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure to meet important deadlines.
• Ability to follow-up on files and delays with minimal supervision.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality.
