Salary Range: $67,680.00 - $101,520.00
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer is responsible for obtaining the best total value in the acquisition of materials and services to meet the ongoing needs of all mill departments while supporting the Materials Replenishment Program.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of high-quality materials and services
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions while maintaining vendor relationships
- Cover the roles of Procurement Manager, Buyer, and Storeroom Supervisors (MRP and material buying) during their absence
- Support the MRP program by sourcing, buying, and maintaining SAP internal contracts
- Research and provide information to department supervisors concerning new products and services
- Manage material quality issues, returns, pricing, and invoicing discrepancies, holding suppliers accountable
- Ensure all duties and projects are completed timely
- Familiarize with Kruger and departmental policies and procedures
- Be a safety leader, adhering to safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Provide on-call and remote support once a month during weekends
- Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned

- Effective communication with external vendors and internal peers, including negotiation and problem-solving
Your Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma/certificate in Supply Chain Management (SCMA) or related field
- 5-10 years of experience supporting an industrial manufacturing facility/mill as a buyer
- Experience in materials management and understanding of contract structures, terms, and conditions
- Experience with SAP or other procure-to-pay systems
- Professional certification in Supply Chain or Procurement (SCMP) preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
