Staff Developer - 12 month contract

From our offices in Downtown Toronto, we’re creating leading digital health experiences in pharmacy, telehealth, wellness, and integrated care – and we’re just getting started.

In healthcare, poor digital experiences can impact real lives. As a Staff Frontend Developer, you will drive the technical vision, software quality, and operational excellence for our digital health frontend platforms. You’ll lead the development of scalable, accessible, and performant user interfaces that people rely on every day.

What You'll Do:
  • Own the frontend technical vision for our digital health platforms, including architecture, standards, and engineering practices across multiple teams.

  • Design, build, and optimize complex frontend applications using Next.js, React, and Node.js, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and accessible.

  • Lead monorepo strategy and implementation for frontend systems, driving consistency, reusability, and streamlined deployments across apps.

  • Get hands‑on when needed – build proof of concepts, tackle difficult bugs, unblock teams, and drive delivery of critical features.

  • Champion operational excellence: performance monitoring, accessibility, automated testing, and CI/CD best practices for frontend apps.

  • Mentor and coach frontend developers, raising the technical bar through design reviews, code reviews, and direct pairing.

  • Identify and advocate for improvements in architecture, developer experience, and processes to drive engineering velocity and quality.

  • Build strong relationships with developers, designers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive, impactful solutions.

  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Does this sound like you?
  • 8+ years building modern frontend applications with Next.js, Node.js, React and Express.

  • Deep experience architecting and scaling frontend systems in monorepos with shared components, libraries, and deployment pipelines.

  • Proven track record of designing performant, accessible, and user‑centered applications at scale.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, and deployment strategies for frontend systems.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or similar) to deploy and manage frontend applications securely and efficiently.

  • Comfortable with backend integration using REST and GraphQL APIs; able to navigate full‑stack when needed.

  • Experience working in agile environments, driving team process improvements, and leading technical initiatives across multiple squads.

  • Self‑starter who thrives in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with a relentless focus on quality and user impact.

  • Excellent communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and influence decisions with clarity and confidence.

  • Thought leader who champions innovation, frontend best practices, and engineering excellence.
