Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating a sheet fed die cutter at the highest efficiency possible while following standard operating procedures and work instructions to produce high quality product.
• Follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
• Work together with the Sheet Fed Press Operator, back up Sheet Fed Die Cut Operator, Die Cut Lead Operator and the Press Lead Operator.
• Set and adjust die cut machine controls.
• Monitor die cutter while in operation and perform machine changeover tasks.
• Assist press support to stage dies and stripping tools.
• Maintain quality, productivity and waste according to set standards.
• Perform all job tasks utilizing required personal protective equipment and correct safety procedures.
• Comply with and follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Ensure product is die cut according to production schedule.
• Keep work area and machine organized and clean.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. May be required to work some overtime.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
• Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
• Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
• Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand and walk for 90% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 10% of work time.
• Ability to see clearly at various distances and colors; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distance and spatial relationships; and adjust the eye to bring objects into sharp focus.
• Ability to use hands for 100% of work time; reach above shoulders for 50% of work time; and use feet to operate machines for 30% of work time.
• Ability to lift 10 pounds or less (25% of work time); 25 pounds or less (30% of work time); 50 pounds or less (25% of work time); and may lift 100 pounds or less (5% of work time).
• May be required to use sense of smell.

Working Conditions

• Work near moving mechanical parts.
• Nearly constant exposure to vibrations, noise and chemical odors.
