Mechanical Engineering Technician jobs in Canada

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, this position provides maintenance engineering and project management services to successfully implement assigned capital and major expense projects supporting area teams. Key focus areas include project scope development, approval processes, procurement, and construction management. Effective management of project schedule, budget, and scope from inception to completion is essential.

• Act as Project Manager for capital projects
• Provide Mechanical Engineering support for capital and maintenance projects
• Contribute to asset lifecycle planning and ongoing maintenance
• Maintain plant standards for mechanical assets
• Serve as a technical resource for maintenance work order planning

• Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution
• Professional Engineering status, registered with APEGA
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a Kraft Pulp Mill
• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP, Maximo, etc.), AutoCAD; knowledge of ASME codes B31.1 and 31.3; proficiency with MS Project
• Familiarity with pressure equipment integrity management
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, across all organizational levels
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving, technical, and project management skills

• Start: immediate or within two weeks of offer
• Location: Hinton, AB
• Duration: 1-year contract with potential extension
