Your Role in Our Journey

The Clinical Forms team at Jane is seeking a Staff Developer to help lead the way in reimagining how patient information flows into the hands of care providers. This team is dedicated to making clinical forms not only efficient but also meaningful and supportive in the context of daily care. As the technical leader, you will guide the team in exploring and delivering thoughtful experiments and features that transform intake and documentation into a seamless, intuitive experience. At its core, this role is about turning a necessary part of healthcare into something practitioners can feel good about, making their workflows intuitive, efficient, and even joyful, while safeguarding the sensitive data entrusted to us with the highest standards of care.

The Experience We Feel We Need
  • 10+ years of experience in software development with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful, customer-facing technical projects by shaping architecture with intention and care, guiding meaningful milestones, and staying closely involved in coding, debugging, and maintaining healthy systems.
  • A strong history of blending quantitative insight and human-centred understanding to thoughtfully guide prioritization and decisions that truly resonate.
  • Proficient in one or more languages/frameworks such as Ruby/Rails, Python, React, HAML, and JavaScript/Typescript.
  • Experienced in SaaS and data architecture, with a thoughtful approach to building scalable, secure systems that support seamless user experiences and long-term maintainability.
  • Adept in nurturing technical teams through supportive leadership. Mentoring with care, empowering others to grow, and creating space for developers to thrive and do their best work.
  • Known for bringing clarity and approachability to complex topics by building strong, respectful connections across a range of audiences, from non-technical leaders to deeply technical teammates.

Compensation Expectations for the Role

Jane’s committed to paying our team membersfairly,clearly, and above all, paying forgrowth.This role has a minimum annual salary of$154,400and maximum annual salary of$241,300. As you may have noticed, this salary range is quite large, and this is intentional to account for the growth someone will experience in the role throughout their time at Jane (i.e., from building the skills, to accomplished, to highly proficient, all the way to achieving excellence in the role). When hiring talented folks to join the Jane team, we’ve found that new team members are best set up for success when hired with the expectation of being fully accomplished in the role, which for this role would reflecta starting salary of $183,400.

It's also possible to join Jane at a salary above or below this, which would mean a salary below$183,400typically reflects someone who has all the potential to be fully accomplished in the role but doesn't yet possess all the skills required, while a salary above$183,400is typically for individuals who are currently in this role at Jane and had the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on our customers, product and company with deep Jane knowledge.
