Job summary
A leading technology company is looking for a skilled accounting professional in Hamilton, Ontario. This role involves managing daily accounting functions, leading closing processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate has over 8 years of experience, holds a CPA, and demonstrates strong leadership skills. A competitive salary of $160,000 - $165,000/year is offered.

- Manage and supervise daily accounting functions including AP, AR, and reconciliations.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial reports and ensure compliance with GAAP.

- Manage and supervise daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review financial reports, KPI report, and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to support internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial/state, and federal financial regulations.
- Lead accounting projects such as financial statement automation, fixed asset system procurement, and changes in accounting for financial instruments.
- Oversee cost accounting and inventory management in coordination with operations.
- Work with FP&A to provide financial data for forecasting and decision-making.
- Responsible for hiring, training, developing, coaching, and leading staff to foster professional growth.
- Direct the team by providing financial guidance to a wide range of employees throughout the company. Support timely financial insights to support business decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent designation required)
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience
- Experience with Process and Controls
$160,000 - $165,000/year
