Job summary

A leading sustainable labeling solutions provider in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a dedicated individual for their 2nd shift Rewinder position. The candidate will operate rewind machinery, ensure product quality through inspection, and maintain equipment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

2nd Shift

Mon: 5 pm - 1:30 pm, Tuesday through Thursday 3 pm - 1:30 pm

We are a fast growing company looking for innovative, dynamic people to join our hard-working, dedicated team of professionals.

Rewinder Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate Master Roll lift safely
  • Rewinds product according to customer specifications and internal procedures.
  • Visually inspects labels for defects.
  • Sets up multiple slitter units.
  • Slits down jobs.
  • Maintains inventory of rewind material and replenishes as needed.
  • Sets up and runs the Label Vision System.
  • Splices rolls together following customer's specifications.
  • Maintains the Rewind equipment using the PM schedules.
  • Follows procedures to setup and operate the back numbering equipment.
  • Operates the table top rewind equipment when needed.
  • Assists in training individuals and other team members as assigned.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and policies.
  • Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
  • Focuses on Continuous Improvement, Quality, Improved Cycle Times, Safety, Cost Reductions, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and core processes.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs unassisted (or more occasionally).
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of shift – 2-hour increments.
  • Short distance walking required with rolls to be placed on shipping table.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
  • Must be able to differentiate between variance.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
  • Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, and if needed, holidays and weekends.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of experience or more working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Willing and able to meet the physical and safety requirements of the role
