Job summary
A prominent healthcare organization in Ponoka seeks an Indigenous Wellness Coordinator. The role focuses on providing advocacy and support for Indigenous wellness, building trust, and facilitating traditional health practices. Ideal candidates are recognized by an Indigenous community and are experienced in navigating Indigenous health care. This position offers a salary range of $25.02 to $41.71 per hour with benefits.
Qualifications
- Recognized by an Indigenous community as competent in traditional Indigenous practices.
- Training in traditional Indigenous approaches to wellbeing.
- Experience in a health care setting or human services field is preferable.
Responsibilities
- Provide advocacy, counseling, support, education and facilitation of wellness services.
- Build relationships and trust between Indigenous patients and health care providers.
- Educate about respectful relationships and health care for Indigenous peoples.
