The successful candidate will assist in leveraging customer, digital, and transportation datasets to create insights on pricing, marketing, and customer travel behavior. The Data Scientist will support the Director of Data Analytics and other key stakeholders in delivering actionable data-driven solutions for 407 ETR. Responsibilities include model design, data management, data queries, and contributing to programs and policies. This role is part of a highly collaborative and energetic team in a start-up minded environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and analyze data to understand customer behavior from existing 407 ETR data, external sources, and emerging data.
• Build promotions, loyalty, and pricing models and optimize using Python, Gurobi, etc.
• Analyze target customer groups for marketing strategies and opportunities.
• Conduct ad hoc data analysis and modeling.
• Lead project-based work with key stakeholders.
• Develop customer analytic models such as targeting, propensity, price elasticity, attrition, lifetime value, churn, and segmentation.
• Develop and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, loyalty, and pricing strategies using methods like A/B testing.
• Understand business issues and create valuable insights.
• Present complex models and insights in accessible language to stakeholders.
• Support data structure and storage planning with IT teams.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Graduate degree in Analytics, Statistics, or Operations Research preferred.
• 3-5 years experience with data science techniques: clustering, regression, classification, anomaly detection, machine learning.
• Experience building customer analytic models: targeting, propensity, price elasticity, attrition, lifetime value, churn, segmentation.
• Experience deploying machine learning models.
• Strong business analysis, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate complex models in simple terms.
• Strong communication and work ethic.
• Team-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Experience with Python, SQL, Tableau, AWS Sagemaker, AWS cloud; DataBricks/Snowflake experience is a plus.
