Visiting Professorship in International Relations

Subfield: International Relations

The Department of Political Science at McGill University invites applications for a Visiting Professorship in International Relations. The aim of the Visiting Professorship is to promote collaboration between members of the Department of Political Science at McGill and leading International Relations researchers from other universities.

The Visiting Professorship can be taken up during either the Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 semesters at McGill University. The Visiting Professor must hold a full-time ranked academic appointment or its equivalent in another academic institution. Ideally the Visiting Professor will be on sabbatical and working on a major research project.

The Visiting Professor should be present at McGill for the entire semester and make a substantial contribution to the academic life of the department. The Visiting Professor should plan to undertake a defined research project in International Relations, offer one advanced undergraduate or graduate-level seminar in their area of expertise, and give a public research presentation.

The Visiting Professor will be provided office space and access to the McGill library with borrowing privileges.

Job Duties:

Defined research project in International Relations, teaching one advanced undergraduate or graduate-level seminar and a public research presentation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Candidates should have completed their PhD and hold a ranked position at another university.
