Job description

Interior Health (IH) is seeking a dynamic Energy Management Co-op Student to join our team. This position is based at the Kelowna Warehouse (Reids) in Kelowna, B.C., with the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement within the Kelowna area. This is an eight-month term position, from approximately January 2026 to August 2026.

What will you work on?

The Co-op Student will assist the Energy Management team with energy management initiatives. A key objective of this co-op placement is to develop sustainable procurement guidance and best practices for key energy consuming equipment.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities
  • Research and evaluate energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainability parameters for a wide range of energy consuming equipment used in healthcare to compile sustainable procurement guidelines and environmentally preferable models or product features.
  • Support energy management initiatives, which could include:
    • Supporting the development of an energy management risk analysis
    • Assisting with the development of a preventative maintenance program for key energy consuming systems
    • Developing communications materials to support with engagementSupporting the development of an energy monitoring and performance program for Plant Services (operations and maintenance)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
