A regional health organization is seeking a permanent full-time community Occupational Therapist to join their team in Kelowna, B.C. This role involves working with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to provide assessment, treatment planning, and education aimed at promoting clients' functional independence. We are hiring for a permanent full-time community Occupational Therapist to join us in Kelowna, B.C. This position supports the Treatment, Support and Recovery Team (TSR), working Monday to Friday from 08:30-16:30. Driving a personal vehicle on mileage may be a requirement of the position, and therefore a valid BC drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
The occupational therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing inpatient, outpatient, residential and community occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (‘the client’) and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The occupational therapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.
