A regional health organization is seeking a permanent part-time Community Mental Health Life Skills Worker in Vernon, Canada. This role involves facilitating clients’ movement toward independent living and requires relevant experience and certifications. We are currently seeking a permanent part time (0.88 FTE) Community Mental Health (Facility) Life Skills Workers to join our team at the Willowview Mental Health Centre in Vernon, B.C.
The Community Mental Health (Facility) Life Skills Worker contributes to a supportive and empowering environment that will enhance the resident’s recovery. Within a specialized residential care environment, this position facilitates the clients’ movement toward independent living, through the maintenance/cleanliness of the facility and engaging in daily activities with the clients that are established through the Clients’ care plan.
Shift types are days, evenings and nights and shift times are from 07:30 to 15:30, 15:00 to 22:00, 23:30 to 07:30, 11:00 to 19:00 hours.
Willowview is a short stay facility (14 days) where clients come for respite or are transitioning back to home or community from hospital. Dealing specifically with MH clients and a maximum capacity of seven beds. Willowview provides many services including adult community support, adult short-term assessment and treatment, community residential programs, geriatric programs, crisis intervention, day and outpatient programs, addictions counselling, concurrent disorders services, group therapy, peer support, and after-hours mental health support.
