JOB DESCRIPTION :

We're seeking a UX Director to lead the user experience vision for our AAA single-player open-world RPG set in the Wheel of Time universe. You'll define UX strategy, build and mentor a cross-disciplinary team, and ensure our complex RPG systems deliver intuitive, accessible experiences that meet the highest AAA standards for PC and next-generation consoles.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

• Define and drive the overall UX vision and strategy, collaborating with our Studio Design Director and cross-functional teams
• Build and scale a cross-disciplinary team including UX designers, UI designers, accessibility specialists, artists, and engineers
• Drive the design of sophisticated HUD systems, complex UI (inventory, progression, crafting), and accessible interfaces for open-world RPG gameplay
• Partner with our 3Cs team to ensure controller-based interactions are intuitive and optimized for multiple platforms
• Work closely with user research programs to define testing priorities and translate findings into actionable design decisions
• Establish UX standards, processes, and best practices while ensuring UI / UX supports the rich Wheel of Time atmosphere
• Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to implement feasible, performant solutions and establish testing protocols

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of UX design experience in gaming with 5+ years specifically on AAA console / PC games
• 3+ years in a leadership role managing UX / UI teams, with experience recruiting and scaling cross-disciplinary teams
• Shipped at least 2 AAA titles in senior UX / UI roles, with extensive experience in action RPGs or open-world games
• Expert proficiency in industry design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and game engine UI systems (Unreal Engine 5 preferred)
• Deep understanding of controller input design, console platform requirements, and accessibility standards
• Mastery of games user research methodologies, statistical analysis, and translating data into design recommendations
• Strong visual design skills and understanding of information architecture for complex game systems
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present findings to stakeholders and work within production constraints

BONUS :

• Passion for the Wheel of Time series and understanding of its world and themes
• Experience with fantasy RPG settings, complex narrative-driven games, or live service considerations
• Knowledge of advanced research methods (eye-tracking, biometrics) and player motivation frameworks
• Background in game design or systems design
