Qualifications
- Fluency in both English and French is required.
- Experience with editing and translating Canadian government documents is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Review French and English written content for quality and compliance.
- Correct errors affecting clarity and user comprehension.
Skills
Review French and English versions of written content and interpretive texts (including inscriptions, dedications and related materials) to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with Government of Canada standards. This includes:
- Verifying the accuracy and fidelity of translations in French;
- Ensuring proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation in French;
- Confirming consistency in terminology, tone, and style across French language versions;
- Applying plain language principles in accordance with the Canada.ca Content Style Guide and the Plain Language Guidelines for the Government of Canada;
- Identifying and correcting issues that may affect clarity, accessibility, or user comprehension
Format of Deliverables:
Edited documents are to be submitted with tracked changes and comments, or equivalent markup, in Word or PDF format to the Project Authority.
Language Requirement:
The Contractor must perform all services in English and French.* The salary benchmark is based on the target salaries of market leaders in their relevant sectors.
