A municipal employer located in Canada is seeking a Head Summer Camp Leader for its summer camp program. This role involves providing leadership for activities aimed at children aged 6 to 12, assisting in planning recreational activities, and ensuring a safe environment. Applicants must have completed Grade 12, possess experience in children’s programming, and demonstrate supervisory skills. The position offers flexible hours from June to August, supportive teamwork, and the chance to engage with the local community.

Pay Grade: 13 $27.30 - $31.97(2024 rates)
Hours of Work: 30-40 hours per week (June 8 – August 21)

The Recreation & Culture Department seeks a Head Summer Camp Leader that is a creative and organized individual to supplement their regular staff during the summer months. Responsibilities involve front-line leadership in support of summer camps or programs, including leading a 9-week summer day camp program for 6–12-year-olds. The Head Summer Camp Leader assists a superior in planning assigned recreational activities and schedules, implements and leads such activities as directed. The Head Summer Camp Leader also assists with the supervision and training of program leaders and volunteers and is responsible for the safe and proper use of equipment and facilities.
The City has applied for the Canada Summer Jobs grant and if approved, applicants must meet the grant criteria. The position may become temporary full-time based if the city receives a Canada Summer Jobs grant. Review the Government of Canada Summer Jobs Website for detailed information about the program.
