Come be part of the Asset Technical Department of ExxonMobil Canada Energy. Our offices are located on the East Coast of Canada in St. John’s, Newfoundland with a workforce of nearly 250 people and two world class offshore production assets.

What role you will play in our team

ExxonMobil is recruiting a Mechanical Technician for employment on the Hebron platform. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful applicant will assist with safe and efficient operations on the Hebron platform.

What you will do
  • Working with equipment such as but not limited to: gas turbines and auxiliary equipment, HVAC heating and cooling systems, multi stage centrifugal pumps and compressors, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and cranes
  • Applying and adhering to industry and regulatory codes applicable to the mechanical field in an offshore environment
  • Participating in Hebron platform safety programs
  • Interacting with operations, maintenance, and onshore/offshore groups to collaboratively address key technical areas and platform priorities
  • Identify improvement opportunities and provide technical solutions.
  • Support the implementation, application, and continuous improvement of integrity management programs
  • Expectation is to become member of Emergency Response teams
About you
Skills and Qualifications
  • Journeyperson inter-provincial trade certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Millwright, or technologist qualification with equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of related experience in oil/petrochemical industry (preferably offshore)
  • Broad working knowledge of Process and Drilling mechanical equipment and machinery
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
  • Familiarity in working with and using computerized maintenance management systems. (SAP)
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Working knowledge of safety practices common to industry
