Job summary
A local construction company in Canada is seeking a skilled worker with a secondary school graduation certificate and 2 years of experience in the construction industry. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, preparing layouts according to building codes, and constructing foundations. Candidates must be able to work on-site as remote work is not an option. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to various construction projects and engage with diverse communities.
Qualifications
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the construction field.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings and sketches.
- Skills in measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
