Shibogama First Nations Council is seeking a Temporary Palliative Care Coordinator to support families and community members facing life-limiting illness in our member communities: Kingfisher Lake, Wunnumin Lake, and Wapekeka.

This role is ideal for a compassionate, experienced, and culturally respectful healthcare professional who believes in holistic, community-centered care.

• Coordinate and deliver palliative care services across communities
• Work collaboratively with local nurses, PSWs, Elders, and families
• Support symptom management and advance care planning
• Provide caregiver education and mentorship to care teams
• Liaise with external healthcare providers for client referrals and support
• Promote culturally safe and holistic end-of-life care

• RN, RPN, or equivalent healthcare certification
• Experience in palliative, hospice, or community care
• Familiarity with Indigenous values and traditions
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Certification in palliative care (e.g., LEAP, CAPCE) is an asset
