Our client, a leading and respected seniors care provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant/Controller to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, results-driven accounting professional to make a meaningful impact in a growing, mission-driven organization.

As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and managing relationships with various stakeholders. Your strong technical accounting skills, combined with your ability to effectively communicate complex financial information will be critical for your success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including GL, AR, AP, payroll, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and other reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, and lead the annual audit
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Qualifications
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, CGA) with a minimum of 3 years of senior-level, full-cycle accounting experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the healthcare or seniors care industry is an asset
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including expertise in investments, audits, and financial reporting
