A regional health authority is seeking a permanent full-time Registered Dietitian for their Home Health team in Penticton. The role includes providing nutrition care and support, working Monday to Friday. Candidates must have a Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and successful completion of an accredited internship. We have a permanent full-time Registered Dietitian opening in our Home Health team in the sunny south Okanagan. This position works Monday to Friday from 08:00-16:00. This position requires Restricted Activities A and C, or a willingness to obtain with employer support. Based primarily from the Penticton Health Centre, this position also requires travel within the local area, including but not limited to Summerland, Osoyoos and Princeton. Travel may be in a fleet vehicle, or a personal vehicle on mileage.

The Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures. Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health. The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program. The Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.
