A regional health authority in Alberta is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide pharmacy services within an inter-professional team. The role involves collaborating with patients to address drug therapy issues while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Applicants should have a registration with the College of Pharmacists and significant experience in patient care. Strong skills in assessment, communication, and teamwork are essential for success in this position.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Situated within identified primary care network locales, this position provides clinical pharmacy services to patients of the primary care network. As a member of an inter‑professional team this position works directly with patients to identify and resolve actual and potential drug therapy problems through provision of comprehensive medication management.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Current registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia and a minimum 2 years' recent, related patient care experience, ideally in a team based primary care setting or equivalent. A valid Class 5 drivers licence.
