Stewarding Supervisor
Job summary
A leading international hotel company in Dubai is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to oversee kitchen sanitation and assist in maintaining operational standards. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, responsibility, and the ability to work as part of a team. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United Arab Emirates, with assistance provided for visa processes.
Qualifications
- Previous Stewarding supervisory experience or a role as a stewarding lead.
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on Guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all stewarding duties including dishwashing and sanitation.
- Supervise kitchen cleanliness and equipment sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with Health Department standards.
- Conduct regular attendance at department meetings.

Reporting to Head Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Participate in dishwashing, garbage removal, silver polishing, pot washing or any other stewarding area as necessary in accordance with department needs.
- Ensure a safe and productive operation.
- Assure compliance with Health Department standards.
- Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen, store rooms, hallways, dock, and equipment.
- Ensure that cleaning schedules are familiar with everybody and proper and consistent sanitation procedures are used by all Colleagues.
- Must assist in the training of all stewarding duties.
- Assist in keeping updated with all items on the communication board and communicate to colleagues when required.
- Present on the floor during meals times ensuring safe and productive operations.
- Immediately alert the Chief Steward and Hygiene manager at the first sightingof pest or rodents.
- Assist in maintaining that all colleagues are following the proper grooming standards.
- Ensure proper pass off to other leaders using logbook.
- Check BEO’s – see what set ups are needed to be done on shift.
- Daily walkthrough of stewarding areas to observe staffing levels, quality control, maintenance and cleanliness.
- Assist in re-assigning Colleagues during shift to areas of need.
- Assist in controlling stocks for daily use in the department (cleaning products, mop heads, etc).
- Assist in controlling breakage.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of all kitchens and HOH areas as well as ensuring all maintenance needs are looked after.
- Ensure all paper towel dispensers are full at all times throughout the shift.
- Conduct shift briefing when required.
- Maintain regular attendance at department and operations meetings.
- Previous Stewarding supervisory experience or role as a stewarding lead.
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on Guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Working with chemicals and other cleaning products
