Job summary
A leading energy company in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Coal and Ash Desk Operator to supervise the operations of jetty, coal, and ash plants. The successful candidate will ensure timely coal supply and safe plant operations, managing emergencies and complying with safety guidelines. Candidates should have a diploma and significant experience in coal-fired power operations, ideally with jetty fuel delivery experience.
Qualifications
- 5 - 7 years in Coal Fired Power plant operations specifically in coal plant (>1200 TPH) and ash handling (>300 MW), ideally with jetty fuel delivery experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise operations of Jetty, Coal Plant, and Ash Plant to ensure timely coal supply.
- Responsible for the safe start-up/shut down of the plant as per SOPs.
- Monitor coal and ash plant operations, handle emergencies, and instruct field operators.
Skills
Education
Coal and Ash Desk Operator is responsible for all control room and field operations of Jetty, Coal Plant and Ash Plant. Supervise, control and coordinate jetty, coal plant and ash plant shift operational activities to ensure timely coal supply to the power plant and effective ash evacuation from the power plant in accordance with established schedules, quality, cost and time objectives. Responsible for safe start-up/shut down of the plant as per the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow safety guidelines including PTW system.
- Creation of defect notification and follow up for rectification of defects
- Operation of jetty system, coal handling plants, ash handling plant with optimum efficiency.
- Safe start-up, Safe operation and safe shutdown of coal and ash handling plants.
- Line up of coal and ash plants and its auxiliaries, changeover of equipment, routine testing of protection system and annunciation system.
- Monitor Coal and ash plant operations and handle emergencies including shut-down of units and control coal supply as per requirement.
- Instruction to field operators for safe operation of coal and ash plants
- Monitor the coal belts loading, bunkering activity on continuous basis to supply uninterrupted coal to power plant
- Emergency Equipment Trial and restoration of process.
- Carry out off scheduled trial run of critical equipment and tests
- Run the plant at maximum capacity and efficiency.
- Belts utilization to be optimized.
- Keep all auxiliaries available and in operating condition to get maximum availability
- Follow best practice
- Check defects and raise notifications in SAP.
- Handle different emergencies in a coal and ash plants.
- Manpower Management and control jetty system, Coal plant and ash plant operations
- Equipment Outage Analysis and troubleshooting
- Reduction in Aux power consumption, service water consumption & prevention leakages
- Monitor operating parameters and maintain at its best
- Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed
- Three-year Regular Diploma or equivalent
