A Marine CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precise and accurate components for marine vessels. This role involves programming, setting up, and maintaining CNC equipment to ensure the efficient production of high-quality parts. Below is a detailed job description for a Marine CNC Operator:

Job Summary:

Marine CNC Operators are skilled professionals who program, set up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture parts and components for marine vessels. They ensure that all produced parts meet exact specifications and quality standards required for marine applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation:
  • Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, installing tooling, and inputting program codes.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or errors and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Programming:
  • Write and edit CNC programs using G-code or other programming languages to control the machining of parts.
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to create precise machining instructions.
  • Optimize CNC programs for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Quality Control:
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform regular quality checks during the machining process to maintain consistency.
  • Document inspection results and maintain records of production runs.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a vocational training program in CNC machining or a related field.
  • Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with CNC machines and programming languages such as G-code.
  • Skills:
