Job summary
A leading manufacturing firm in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of machine installations. Qualified candidates should have a diploma in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in machine maintenance, ideally in the plastic industry. Key tasks involve preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and adhering to safety standards.

- More than 3 years of relevant experience in machine maintenance.
- Experience in the plastic/packaging industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform general, predictive, and preventive maintenance on machinery.
- Attend to breakdowns and resolve related issues efficiently.
- Ensure good housekeeping and adherence to safety regulations.
Skills
Education
To ensure that all machines electrical & mechanical installations in the assigned dept. are in efficient working order with minimum down time.
- Having knowledge doing general, predictive and preventive maintenance of all Injection & Blow Moulding, thermoforming machines & accessories machines allocated & giving report to superiors.
- Attend to break downs and resolve issues related to Electricals, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatic areas ensuring minimal loss of production time. Basic knowledge of Utilities like air compressors & AC’s & Chillers required checking & correcting.
- To make alternative arrangements in consultation with the superiors, in case of major breakdown of motors, pumps, electric parts breakdown and other heavy machinery parts.
- To ensure generation and maintenance of records, job cards, etc. for repair works undertaken on various equipment and other machineries.
- To provide assistance in all matters to the superior and give workable suggestions on process / machinery / efficiency improvements
- To ensure good housekeeping and cleanliness in all areas involved and works undertaken
- To ensure that safety regulations in respect of all equipment repairs are strictly followed in all circumstances.
- Ensure compliance to Safety, Quality, Food Safety and Environment requirements as specified in the global QHSE Management System with strict adherence to ISO and local regulatory authority.
- Ensure that all records and documents are up to date and have full traceability and retrieval at all times and that all processes, procedures & activities comply with ISO and management procedures.
- To ensure that all company operational and ethical practices and policies are adhered to at all times.
- Perform any other job/task assigned by the Maintenance Executive to accomplish department objectives.
- Diploma in Engineering (more than 3 years) preferably in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering & Electromechanical is an added advantage
- 3 to 5 years & above of machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably plastic/packaging industry.
- Knowledge in reading of electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic circuits & mechanical drawings.
- Ability to optimize the spare parts
- Logical & Analytical skills in problem solving
