A leading retail group is seeking a Legal Counsel to be based at their offices in Dubai.

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the main duties will include:

Responsibilities / Duties (in both Arabic and English):

1. Providing legal advice on all company issues and reviewing documents referred by the Senior Legal Counsel.
2. Reviewing and drafting policies and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
3. Interpreting laws, monitoring legislation, and managing legal suits and arbitrations involving the company.
4. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contractual agreements with contractors, customers, consultants, suppliers, lessors, shippers, etc.
5. Developing standard agreements and ensuring all contracts protect the company's legal interests.
6. Studying relevant legal documents such as constitutions, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances to assess legal implications.
7. Preparing legal documents including memoranda, letters, deeds, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
8. Conducting legal research using computerized and traditional methods.
9. Drafting and finalizing written legal work products.
10. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for the company.
11. Analyzing legal cases to predict outcomes based on precedents.
12. Representing the company in meetings on behalf of the Senior Legal Counsel.
13. Performing any additional duties assigned by the Senior Legal Counsel.

Language Requirements:

• Fluent/Excellent in Arabic

Additional Requirements:

• Own a car and hold a valid driving license.

Candidate Profile:

• At least 7 years of legal practice experience post-admission, preferably within the GCC region; UAE experience is a plus.
• Law degree (LL.B) from a recognized university; a Master in Law (LL.M) is preferred.

• Fully bilingual in Arabic and English.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and creative with strong research skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups.
• Knowledge of legal issues involving government entities.
• Ability to learn new legal areas quickly.
• Proficient in legal research, both digital and traditional.
• Effective communicator, discreet, and ethical.
• Proficient in word processing and time management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
