The School of Energy Geoscience Infrastructure and Society at HeriotWatt University Dubai is currently inviting applications for multiple Adjunct Faculty positions in their undergraduate architecture programme (RIBA Part 1) for the next 2526 Academic year due to start in September 2025.

HeriotWatt University Dubai Campus was first established in 2005. Home to over 4000 students and over 250 staff it is the largest and most successful international campus in Dubai and has received a 5star rating from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) repeatedly and is now CAA Licensed.

• Lead or support the teaching of the assigned course during the semester including carrying out assessment duties.
• Contribute to the content design and delivery and the quality of teaching and learning in consultation with colleagues and within the international structures and mechanisms established by the University.
• Mentor and supervise students providing effective welldocumented and timely feedback to students on their formative and summative coursework.
• Provide pastoral support recognising when to refer a student for further support.
• Play a key role in the delivery and support of an excellent student learning and living experience at HWU.
• Support the programme team in their discipline activities and events aligning with the universitys aims.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues at our Dubai campus as well as at our UK & other campuses where applicable and with external networks both for the exchange of information to share learning and to form relationships for future collaboration.
• Be committed to the required time hours including contact hours within the classroom preparation time assessment & feedback time all over a 12 to 15 week teaching & assessment semester.

• PhD or Masters degree in the Architecture discipline.
• Ability to teach in undergraduate RIBA Part 1 architecture programme.
• Expert in architecture design technology structure and materials.
• Understanding of the RIBA educational framework and standards
• Understanding of local building codes and byelaws.
• Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
• Previous teaching or training experience is preferred.
• Excellent Communication skills: programmes are delivered in English and so fluency in English is essential.
• Proficient in MS office and Adobe Design Suite.
• Proficient in Rhino 3d or similar CAD design packages.

Equivalency Certificate: The applicant should hold an equivalency certificate for their highest degree from the Ministry of Education UAE to be included as part of the application.

Availability: Availability for one to two days per week for the parttime role.

Academic Year: The appointment is for the 2526 academic year starting from September 2025 to May 2026.

Portfolio Submission: A concise portfolio of design projects should be submitted as part of the application.
