Logistics and Supply Chain Management (September 2025 – January 2026) Maternity cover

Edinburgh Business School at Heriot‑Watt University Dubai is inviting applications for a fixed‑term maternity‑cover contract to deliver teaching on our Logistics and Supply Chain Management courses. We are seeking someone who could deliver in the following areas:

  • Data Analytics
  • Managing Business PerformanceNike

This role will involve delivering lectures and workshops and undertaking the associated marking. As a global university our teaching resources are developed by Global Course Leaders to ensure a consistently excellent student experience across all our campuses.

Applicants on this maternity cover must be on their own visa and medical insurance.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Undertake teaching and assessment duties on academic programmes.
  • Support colleagues in Edinburgh Business School with the delivery of courses and other activities to achieve the university's aims.
  • Support the development of relevant materials in appropriate formats.
  • Contribute to the content design and delivery and the quality of teaching and learning, in consultation with colleagues and within the university's international structures.
  • Mentor and supervise students, providing effective, well‑documented and timely formative and summative feedback.
  • Provide pastoral support and recognise when to refer a student for further assistance.
  • Play a key role in delivering an excellent student learning and living experience at HWU.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at our Dubai campus and at UK & other campuses, and with external networks to share learning and form future collaborations.
  • Commit to a typical 12 to 15 week teaching & assessment semester, including classroom contact hours, preparation, assessment and feedback time.
Qualifications / Experience
  • PhD or Master’s in a relevant field.
  • At least one year of previous teaching experience (ideally in UK higher education).
  • Ability to teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes.
  • Excellent communication skills: fluency in English is essential.
Other Requirements

Applicants must be in the UAE on a Resident visa and must provide a NO‑Objection Certificate (NOC) from the visa sponsor. UAE Nationals & Golden Visa holders do not need to provide an NOC. Required right‑to‑work documentation includes:

  • Coloured passport copy including visa page.
  • Emirates ID copy, front and back.
  • Attested degree & equivalency certificate.
  • Updated CV.
  • NOC.
