The Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for indirect tax compliance, technology implementation and governance across Airalo’s global footprint, with a strong focus on EU VAT, while managing indirect tax matters for over 60 jurisdictions. The role will report to the Group Tax Director and will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and operating scalable indirect tax processes aligned with Airalo’s digital business model.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, suited for someone who combines deep technical VAT knowledge with strong experience in tax engine implementation and process automation.

• Own global indirect tax compliance, including VAT, GST, and telecom/ digital taxes, with a focus on EU VAT regimes
• Manage VAT registrations, filings, OSS, and reconciliations. Build a tax compliance and control framework for managing compliance processes across 60+ markets.
• Ensuring timely and accurate filings across all jurisdictions, coordinating with external advisors, where required
• Maintain robust documentation, controls, and audit-ready processes. Act as the internal SME for EU VAT on electronically supplied/ telecom services and advise on VAT treatment for new products, pricing models, promotions, and go-to-market strategies
• Support VAT determination for B2C and B2B supplies, including place-of-supply analysis
• Lead the implementation and optimization of indirect tax engines such as Avalara, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, or similar tools
• Drive automation of compliance workflows and improve data quality for indirect tax reporting. Collaborate and partner with Finance, Legal, Product, and Commercial teams to embed indirect tax compliance into business processes
• Support internal and external audits related to indirect tax

• 6+ years of experience in indirect tax / VAT, ideally in a multinational, digital, telecom, SaaS, or B2C marketplace business
• Demonstrable EU VAT experience (including OSS and digital services VAT) is mandatory
• Proven experience implementing or operating tax determination engines such as Avalara, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Vertex, or similar
• Experience working with ERP systems and billing platforms in a high-volume, transaction-led environment
• Background in Big 4 / large consulting firm combined with in-house experience strongly preferred
• Deep technical understanding of EU VAT rules for telecom/ digital and cross-border supplies
• Detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and comfortable operating in an agile growth environment
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently with a high degree of ownership
