Job summary
An established industry player in construction is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to oversee health and safety operations. This role involves leading the development of HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the Oil and Gas sector, particularly in the GCC region, and hold a NEBOSH certification. - 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry; GCC experience is a plus.
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory for this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of corporate HSE policies and manage risk assessments.
- Conduct emergency drills and ensure medical provisions are available.
Skills
Education
The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare HSE Department day-to-day operations ensuring teamwork, high performance standards, and targets.
- Lead and facilitate the development of corporate HSE policies to support the company's HSE management system.
- Maintain, review, and update the HSE policies.
- Ensure the development of effective Emergency Response Plans.
- Direct and manage Risk Assessments, Hazard Assessments, and HAZOPS, including Incident Investigations.
- Develop and conduct appropriate training.
- Develop a safety training program appropriate to the project.
- Audit and ensure medical provisions are available as required.
- Conduct emergency mock-up drills.
- 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry; GCC experience is also welcome to apply.
- NEBOSH certification is a must.
- Bachelor's degree in any field with attestation; Engineering preferred.
