POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues promptly. Communicate effectively with guests and customers to resolve maintenance concerns. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for proper functioning. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shutoff valves for equipment and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
Display basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and inventory duties related to engineering. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work. Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinklers. Demonstrate basic computer skills such as inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
Follow all company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards, develop positive working relationships, support team efforts, and communicate professionally. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier tasks should be done with assistance. Navigate stairs, ramps, ladders, and reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling. Use computers to access work-related information and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
