JOB SUMMARY
The HSE Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure safe and compliant construction projects. This role involves risk assessment, incident prevention, compliance monitoring, and coordination with project teams to enforce safety measures and regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies in accordance with Abu Dhabi s safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement appropriate control measures.
Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and accident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Ensure proper permits and approvals are in place for hazardous work.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by workers.
Educate workers on site to have self-safety consciousness
Monitor hazardous activities such as working at heights, excavation, and lifting operations.
Investigate accidents and unsafe incidents to determine root causes.
Document findings and implement preventive measures.
Ensure fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency exits are available and maintained.
Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, risk assessments, and compliance reports for internal and regulatory use.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety into all project phases.
Ensure subcontractors comply with company HSE policies.
Preparing necessary daily, weekly and monthly reports
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor s degree in a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry in the UAE.
Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi s safety regulations (OSHAD, AD EHSMS, and UAE labor laws).
Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent are preferred.
Strong understanding of HSE management systems and risk assessment techniques.
Ability to conduct site inspections and enforce compliance measures.
Training in safety is required.
Valid UAE driving license preferred.
