About the Role

Our Client is seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Chartering Manager to lead our dry bulk chartering activities in the Handysize segment. Based in Dubai, you will be responsible for managing voyage and time charter operations across key regional markets including the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, and Mediterranean.

This is a critical role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and has a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with owners, brokers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a profitable chartering strategy focused on Handysize vessels.
• Negotiate and conclude voyage and time charters with charterers, owners, and brokers.
• Analyze cargo flows, freight market trends, and identify new business opportunities in the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, and Mediterranean regions.
• Maintain and grow a reliable network of vessel owners, operators, and charterers.
• Work closely with operations and post-fixture teams to ensure smooth execution of charter parties.
• Generate reports and provide insights on freight rates, competition, and market developments.
• Contribute to risk management and freight exposure hedging strategies where applicable.
• Ensure all fixtures are compliant with company policies and relevant international regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum 57 years experience in dry bulk chartering, preferably in the Handysize segment.
• Strong market knowledge of the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, and Mediterranean dry bulk trade routes.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Established network of shipowners, brokers, and charterers.
• Proficiency in shipping tools (e.g., IMOS, Shipnet, or similar chartering systems).
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong commercial instinct.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Dubai.
