The successful candidate will oversee the environmental aspects of the company's project portfolio, ensuring alignment with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, while minimizing environmental impact.
This role involves environmental planning, assessment, compliance, and initiating environmental initiatives. The Environment Manager will coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to implement strategies and monitor progress to meet targets.
- Identify environmental planning philosophies and requirements during the design stage.
- Determine environmental assessment needs and engage reputable consultants accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and permit conditions.
- Educate project personnel on environmental policies and procedures.
- Develop biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration strategies to protect habitats and promote species diversity.
- Foster a sustainability culture within company departments.
- Bachelor's degree in an environment-related field (Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, etc.).
- 10-12 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a senior environmental management role.
- Experience in pre-construction environmental design and planning.
- Broad knowledge across environmental disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic insight.
- Specialization in an environmental discipline (Air Quality, Noise, Hydrogeology, etc.).
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcMap, QGIS, or similar).
- In-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi and UAE environmental regulations.
- Experience related to real estate development.
