Electrical Engineer

Job brief

We are looking for an accountable Electrical Engineer responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines involved in projects. You will resource and manage all technical activities from conception to completion, with relevant experience in site supervision and coordination.

1. Preparation of design documents such as SLD, Load Schedules, data sheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, instrument index, I/O list, etc., in water and wastewater treatment projects.
2. Supervision of site activities including installation of electrical equipment, instruments, panels, cable laying, and terminations.
3. Define and produce control system programming documents, including control logic and HMI display pages.
4. Technical and commercial evaluation for procurement of control systems and field instruments.
5. Witnessing critical instrumentation pre-commissioning activities and reviewing requirements for temporary equipment to facilitate commissioning/start-up.
6. Conduct FAT and SAT activities for electrical and automation systems.
7. Perform basic functional tests for field instruments, ensuring compliance with technical data sheets, range, alarm, and trip set points.
8. Programming PLCs for small-scale projects.
9. Prepare scope-of-work from contract documents for electrical and instrumentation systems for bidding.
10. Review vendor drawings and technical documents for interface and compliance, and communicate with vendors to ensure corrective actions.
11. Coordinate with electrical and instrumentation subcontractors to ensure work meets specifications and requirements.
12. Prepare procedures for site inspections and submit technical documents to consultants, addressing non-compliance issues.
13. Liaise with clients and subcontractors, conduct site meetings.
14. Supervise fiber optic cable termination, design and select systems like Telephone, CCTV, PA, Access Control, and prepare layouts.
15. Prepare operation and control philosophies, logic drawings, loop and junction box diagrams, cable schedules, and panel drawings.
16. Prepare technical and commercial bid evaluations and purchase orders.
17. Develop datasheets for flowmeters, transmitters, gauges, switches, control valves, etc.
18. Design cable tray layouts, junction box layouts, and hook-ups.

• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in water & wastewater treatment in UAE/Gulf.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience; Oil & Gas experience is a plus.
• Excellent MS Office skills and project management capabilities.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations, and performance standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and disciplines.
• Strong project management, supervision, decision-making, and leadership skills.
• UAE driving license.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
