Job description

Riu is the surname of the family that founded the business in Mallorca, Spain, back in 1953 when they purchased a small hotel in Playa de Palma.

Here they forged a customer-focused service philosophy and a way of doing business based on honesty and hard work.

Our vocation has been passed down through the generations for more than 70 years, and that is why family values still play an important role at RIU today.

🌟 Join Our Global Family at RIU Hotels & Resorts!

With more than 100 hotels in 20+ countries, RIU Hotels & Resorts is one of the world’s leading hospitality brands. For over 70 years, we’ve grown through innovation, service excellence, and the dedication of our people. Today, we continue to expand internationally—offering unique destinations, a dynamic workplace, and the chance to be part of a truly global success story.

Position: Assistant Regional HR Director.

Department: HR Department.

Location: International. This role requires relocation abroad.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and internationally minded Assistant Regional HR Director to support and strengthen our people strategy across multiple hotels in the region. This key role works closely not only with the Regional HR Director, but also in direct collaboration with local HR and Hotel Managers, ensuring consistency, alignment, and excellence across all HR processes.

Important

This role requires flexibility to be relocated to some of the countries where RIU operates and the ability to attend international business trips.

What You’ll Do
  • Strategic HR partnership: Collaborate with senior leadership and hotel HR managers to implement consistent HR policies and practices. Contribute to HR budgeting, monitor key metrics, and drive regional HR projects to support our business goals.
  • Talent Management: Lead and support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and talent development.
  • HR Operations Excellence: Oversee all aspects of payroll, compensation, and benefits administration. You will manage HR vendors, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and leverage HR-related software and systems to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Act as a key advisor on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters. Ensure full compliance with local and international labor laws, and manage relationships with legal counsel and institutional bodies.
  • International Mobility: Supervise employee relocation processes, including the application and renewal of visas and work permits, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition for our international staff.
  • Employee Welfare: Supervise the management of staff accommodation, employee transport and other employee services, ensuring a high standard of care and a positive living environment for our team members.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year’ experience in HR management / supervisory role, ideally in hospitality or service industries, with regional or multi-site responsibilities.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • Demonstrated international experience or exposure to multicultural work environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across levels. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and relocate internationally as required.
Why RIU Hotels & Resorts?
  • Your Growth is Our Priority: At RIU Hotels & Resorts, we believe in nurturing talent from within. We are proud to provide our team members with opportunities to advance their careers through training, mentorship, and internal promotions, ensuring your potential is recognized and rewarded—whether locally or internationally.
  • A Culture of Belonging: Join a team where your ideas and efforts truly matter. We foster an inclusive, collaborative environment where every voice is heard, and success is celebrated together.
  • Rewarding Your Commitment: Enjoy a career with competitive compensation, employee benefits, and perks that reflect our appreciation for your dedication and excellence.
Our Commitment

At RIU Hotels & Resorts, we value diversity, equity, and inclusion as fundamental pillars of our success. We welcome all applications, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Additionally, we are firmly committed to sustainability and social responsibility. Through our Proudly Committed strategy, we place sustainability at the heart of all our decisions. This program reflects our dedication to minimizing environmental impact, promoting responsible practices, and making a positive contribution to the communities where we operate.

By joining RIU, you will become part of a company that not only strives for service excellence but also aims to create a positive impact on the world.
