Job summary
A luxury cruise company is seeking a Sommelier to develop and maintain a comprehensive wine list reflecting guests' diverse tastes. This role involves sourcing high-quality wines, providing excellent service, and training crew members on wine techniques. The ideal candidate has a recognized sommelier certification and experience in high-end settings.
Qualifications
- Completed a recognized sommelier certification program (e.g. Certified sommelier, WSET Level 2 or higher).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Sommelier in high-end environments.
- Extensive knowledge of wine regions and pairings.

- Develop and maintain a wine list reflecting guest preferences.
- Source and purchase high-quality wines.
- Provide exceptional wine service to guests.
- Train and supervise crew members in wine service techniques.

Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of wines. Create and maintain relationships with wine vendors and suppliers. Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine pairing menus. Monitor and control costs related to the wine program. Stay updated on industry trends and developments in the world of wine. Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations.

- Attention to detail and a passion for providing exceptional service
- Certification from a recognized sommelier program is preferred
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
