Overview
Our client is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join their team, based in Roodepoort.
Successful candidate will play a pivotal role managing procurement, inventory optimisation, and supplier relationships, to support lean and cost-efficient operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Management, or related field
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, or sourcing—preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in supplier negotiation, contract management, and purchase order systems. Familiarity with ERP or materials management systems is advantageous
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills—comfortable using Excel (e.g., cost-analysis, spend dashboards, inventory tracking)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building capabilities. Comfortable coordinating across cross-functional teams
Duties
- Oversee end-to-end procurement processes: supplier sourcing, evaluation, RFQ's / RFP's, price negotiation, contract execution, and PO issuance
- Manage supplier performance metrics: delivery reliability, quality compliance, cost benchmarking; conduct corrective action as needed
- Maintain accurate inventory control and coordinate with production and logistics units to align supply with manufacturing schedules
- Build and maintain key vendor relationships to ensure alignment on cost, quality, lead-time, and contract terms
- Develop and manage cost-saving initiatives, monitor spend trends, and report procurement performance
- Coordinate logistics and inbound delivery planning in conjunction with operations or warehouse teams
