Job description
Job Specification: General Administrator – short term contract

Department: Administration / Operations

Reports to: Manager

Location: Cape Town

Type: contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Administrator to provide essential administrative support for administrative projects. The ideal candidate will be articulate, client-focused, and capable of handling a variety of administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Strong communication skills—particularly over the phone—are essential, along with a proactive approach to completing projects and supporting daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative duties to update internal systems
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients via phone and email
  • Assist with project coordination and follow-through to ensure timely completion
  • Prepare and manage internal documents, forms, and reports
  • Monitor and manage inboxes and correspondence
  • Ensure high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all administrative work
  • Contribute to smooth office operations and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a general administrative or support role
  • Grade 12; further training in office administration is an advantage
  • Experience in a client-facing or professional services environment is beneficial
