Our client, a leading US-based firm specializing in tax consulting and advisory services, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to support their US tax team remotely from South Africa. This 12-month renewable contract position is based in Johannesburg or Cape Town (Hybrid).

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in U.S. tax preparation, strong accounting knowledge, and the ability to produce high-quality work independently. Responsibilities include preparing U.S. tax returns for various entities, reviewing accounting data, and assisting with cross-border compliance such as FBAR and PFIC reporting.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in U.S. tax preparation within a CPA practice
• Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws for businesses and individuals
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with cloud-based tools like Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, and Google Workspace
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Familiarity with international tax components is a plus but willingness to learn is essential
