Plumbing, Gas & Solar Technician

This role is within a well-established technical team, providing services for a renowned South African plumbing brand. You will play a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction, ensuring safety, and maintaining high service quality. This technical role ensures effective handling of customer requests and compliance with operational and administrative standards. The technician is responsible for delivering plumbing, gas, and solar services in both residential and commercial contexts.

Positions Available: 2

Location: Boksburg

Salary: R12 500 – R15 000 per month, depending on experience

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 – 17:00; Every second Saturday as required

• Administration (40%)
• Create accurate client quotes
• Generate and adjust invoices
• Maintain time, material, and task records
• Write detailed job reports
• Follow company process for job completion, payments, and client approval
• Liaise with accounts on Yoco payments

• Sales Generation (10%)
• Upsell services and products
• Follow up on outstanding quotes
• Generate new business

• Client Liaison (10%)
• Build rapport with clients and office staff
• Understand client needs and resolve complaints professionally

• Job Preparation (30%)
• Plan daily job routes
• Check tools and vehicles before and after each day
• Accurately select stock for all work, including emergencies

• Technical Execution (10%)
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and drainage systems
• Collaborate with other trades (electricians, builders, etc.)
• Follow plans and blueprints
• Respond to emergency call-outs
• Perform general light construction, painting, plastering, electrical work

• Qualifications
• Grade 12 / Matric
• Certification in gas
• Must have a Red Seal or be a licensed plumber

• Experience
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with ability to work independently as a qualified plumber
• 5 years experience working with solar geysers

• Skills & Knowledge
• Knowledge of safety codes and practices
• Proficient with tools of the trade
• Blueprint interpretation
• Excellent client service and communication
• Attention to detail and multitasking
• Basic math and measurement conversion

• Physical Demands
• Ability to kneel, lift heavy objects, work at heights and in confined spaces

• Legal Requirements
• Valid driver’s license
